Liebster Award and Black Cat Blue Sea Award

Many thanks to Riddhi and Cherelle for nominating me for two awards! Since I don’t have any eloquent speeches prepared, I’m just going to go ahead and answer these fabulous questions for both awards!

The Black Cat Blue Sea Award

The meaning of the Black Cat Blue Sea Award:

“This award is for bloggers who strive to write for everybody, and no matter how many viewers they get, make an impact on a reader. This award is an expression of gratitude to the nominee. It should be awarded to anybody that you choose deserves it, and it doesn’t mean that they must have hundreds of followers and likes.”

The Rules:

  • Anybody nominated can nominate seven (lucky number) other bloggers.
  • Anybody nominated answers three questions.
  • The questions you ask while nominating can be any three questions.
  • If any of the questions asked are offending or the nominee simply does not want to answer them, the nominee does not have to answer them to earn the award.

Riddhi’s Questions:

  1. What is the one thing you like and dislike about my blog?
I love how you post a lot of fun tags and stuff which encourages visitors to engage in conversation! Your answers are fun to read. I can’t think of anything I dislike.
  2. What are your 5 all-time favorite songs?
Great question! I have soooo many different songs I love. It really depends on my mood and what I’m doing at the moment. Here’s a variety of 5 songs I’ve listened to a lot recently: Burning Heart by Svrcina, I Get to Love You by Ruelle, Swan Song by Dua Lipa, Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls, Lost Girls by Lindsey Stirling. Can I list a 100 more, pretty please? 🥺
  3. Which language would you like to learn completely?
I can read and speak Arabic, but I’d like to be a fluent speaker.

I nominate:

  1. Alexandra @Reading By Starlight
  2. Becky @Becky’s Book Blog
  3. Joanna @The Geekish Brunette
  4. Krista @Confessions of a YA Reader
  5. Octavia @Mermaid Reads
  6. Julia @Owls Reads
  7. Rowena @Beneath A Thousand Skies

My Questions:

  1. What are your favorite kind of blog posts to write?
  2. Which of the four seasons is your favorite?
  3. If you could visit any place in the world, where would you choose?

Thanks again Riddhi @Whispering Stories for nominating me! You’re a shining star!

The Liebster Award

Cherelle @Cherelle the Bibliophile nominated me for this award. Thank you so much! I love her posts and aesthetic. Anyone who hasn’t already should check out her lovely blog!

Rules:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and give a link to their blog
  • Answer the 11 questions asked of you
  • Nominate 11 bloggers
  • Ask your nominees 11 questions
  • Notify your nominees once you have uploaded your post

Cherelle’s questions:

  • What was your most recent 5 star read?
I don’t normally give star ratings to books. If I did I’d choose The Light of All That Falls by James Islington. His debut series makes me want to pick up more epic fantasies!
  • What is your most anticipated release for 2021?
Leigh Bardugo’s Rule of Wolves. Although I still have to read the first book in the King of Scars duology! Please wait for me, Nikolai! I’m climbing my TBR mountain to get to you. ⛰️
  • What is the first book that comes to your mind when I say “toothpaste”? (P.S.- there is no meaning behind this question)
Goodnight, Daniel Tiger. I read this one recently to my son.
  • Pair two book characters from two different books/series to make the ultimate ship.
This will be my first time shipping anyone! I pair Nikolai Lantsov from the Grishaverse books with Elisa de Riqueza from the Fire and Thorns trilogy. Both are intelligent and capable leaders that would make a formidable ruling pair. I think they also have the strength and kindness in their hearts to support each other in their personal struggles.
  • What is the one book that you will never get bored of?
Ahh these questions are so hard! When I was a teen I read the Harry Potter series and Ella Enchanted multiple times. The Lunar Chronicles comes to mind now that I’ve picked up reading again.
  • Which fictional character (can be books, movies) do you admire?
There’s so many! I could post regularly listing my favorites and why I admire them. For now, I’ll choose Professor Minerva McGonagall from the Harry Potter books. She’s a highly intelligent and strong-willed lady.
  • Favorite place to read?
I’d love to lounge on a chair in my backyard and enjoy a gentle breeze and some warm sunlight.
  • Favorite blog post that you have ever written (add a link as well so I can read it)?
I really like these questionnaires where I can connect with everyone! 🥰 I’d also like to write some discussions posts once I catch up with my book reviews. Otherwise my favorite post is my book review of Cress by Marissa Meyer. I don’t know…I guess I like to spice things up every now and then from the usual talk of plot, character development, etc. 😅
  • What is the prettiest book cover that you own?
    Behold this beauty:

This cover just looks so rich to me! I love how those detailed engravings emerge from the background.

  • What would you do if you were invisible for a day?
This could go in two entirely different directions. 😈 😇 Either I could leave wads of chewing gum under naughty people’s shoes, or leave gifts and flower petals around for kind souls whenever they enter a room.
  • Count the number of letters of “Liebster” + the date you do the tag + the first digit of the page number you stopped at in the book you are currently reading(e.g if you’re on 56, take ‘5’) along your bookshelf… tell us which book it lands on!
The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow. I loved The Ten Thousands of January. In fact, it’s the first book I reviewed on my blog. So obviously I can’t wait to read her next work!

My nominees:

  1. Tess @Unbound Library
  2. Eryn @Love Your Shelf
  3. Becca @Toastie Books
  4. A Court of Coffee and Books

  7. Reading Girl Reviews
  8. Elizabeth @An Attic Full of Paper
  9. Alexandra @Reading By Starlight

  1. Congrats and merci beaucoup for the nomination – I’ll answer those here, hope that’s okay, I’m not that into awards (unless there’s money involved, of course)

What was your most recent 5 star read?
Before They Are Hanged by Joe Abercrombie.
What is your most anticipated release for 2021?
Winds of Winter. Oh, no. Er, Doors of Stone? What? Okay, what about Thorn of Emberlain? What do you mean that’s not gonna happen? Screw this. Okay – Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo in which I hope she doesn’t repeat the mistakes of King of Scars.
Do you prefer book series or standalones?
Series. When I like a thing, I want more of it. Books are like ice cream regarding this.
Pair two book characters from two different books/series to make the ultimate ship !
    Draco Malfoy and Haymitch Abernathy.
What is the one book that you will never get bored of?
Harry Potter, no matter what rubbish JKR twitters.
Which fictional character (can be books, movies) do you admire?
    Hermione Jean Granger.
    Favorite place to read?
    My nonexistent couch.
Favorite blog post that you have ever written (add a link as well so I can read it)?
My review of Pawn in Frankincense. https://klausviedenz.com/2020/10/21/review-pawn-in-frankincense-lymond-chronicles-4/
What is the prettiest book cover that you own?
    King of Scars.
What would you do if you were invisible for a day?
That’s actually what my book is about…I’d rob a bank, poison my enemies, listen to what people have to say about me when I’m not there. I’m joking, of course. Maybe.
How do you decide on your next book to read?
I look at my unread shelf and pick whatever I’m in the mood for.

  2. Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions, Noelle! I truly appreciate it. Ahh King of Scars looks really good… I am dying to read it but was told I have to get through Shadow and Bone and the Six of Crows duology first haha! 😅 Awww I love the idea of leaving gifts and flower petals for people, great choice. ❤

    • It was my pleasure! 🙂

I second reading the Shadow and Bone trilogy and the Six of Crows duology. I personally enjoyed both series, so I think the journey is worth taking before getting to King of Scars.
