My Review Policy
Hello!
Thank you for visiting my bookish blog. Whether you’re a curious reader wanting to know how I go about my reviews, or an author interested in a review for your book, you may find my review policy helpful.
First, I prefer not to give star ratings. I feel like a rating may misrepresent my feelings towards a book. Instead I prefer to sort out my thoughts as I go: I discuss aspects I love that stand out to me and may also mention what didn’t work for me.
I understand the hard work authors put into every page, so my intent is to never bash them or their work. Many thanks are due to all the wonderful writers out there for entertaining, educating, and inspiring us readers!
I read stories for all age groups – including graphic novels. My favorite genres are:
- Fantasy
- Historical Fiction/Non-fiction
- Dystopian
- Mystery
- Thriller
However, I don’t read the following:
- Horror
- Erotica
- Religious/holiday themed stories
- Anything with excessive gore/gross descriptions
I prefer to read books in digital format. And I reserve the right to not review a story I didn’t enjoy, especially if it seems to support offensive/toxic ideas.
